Hello,
My name is Marla Valdez. I am a Communication Studies major and minoring in Translation Studies. I became interested in translation because English is my second langue and moved to live in the States 6 years ago. I have noticed how translation has impacted my academic life so why not, learn more about it. I came back to Mexico city due to Covid-19 so I am happy to be back in my country with my family. I was born in New York in lived there for a while, then I moved to Mexico and then to California. I got very inspired today at Togato's class because she proved to me that there is an excuse to learn more than one language. I am very excited to leat the different ways and technic on how to translate.
My plan within translation is to keep practicing my Spanish and English follow by learning another language such as Italian. I really enjoy learning grammar and other languages. I want to combine Communication Studies with the minor in Translation Studies, so if one day I decide to move back to Mexico City with my family I will be able to work translating and applying my communication skills as well for a corporation of why not self employee me translating from English to Spanish.
I am very excited to succeed in this Fall 2021 semester and enjoy the different technics to translate.
