Introduction

Hello, my name is Carlos Escobar and to me translation plays/is going to play a big role as to my future goals. I am currently working towards obtaining my bachelors of the arts in Spanish, moreover, in the goal to get my single subject teaching credential in order to become a foreign language teacher. A minor in translation studies will come in handy in the sense that before this course I believed that translation was simple, A to B. It's more than that its "A to a" and "B to b". We translate not only to get to get the literal meaning across, the denotation, but also its positive and negative associations, the connotation. If we don't learn how to properly translate the consequences could be grave.
